Kendall’s Top Seven Priorities to Cope With Peer Adversaries Include Two New Aircraft
9 December 2021

There’s “a fair amount of analysis work to do,” Kendall said, and he’s moved his analysis shop from the A9 to the Secretariat, “to support both the Air Force and Space Force.”  The emphasis, he said, will be on “moving fast,” as it has been for several years, but “going in the right direction is pretty important, too. And so we want to make sure we do the work up front to make sure we’re going in the right direction and … get to meaningful opportunities [and] operational capability as quickly as we can.” Full article

I/ITSEC 2021: Top Military Training Priorities and the Future of Simulation Training
3 December 2021
While the many ways that simulators and other innovative training technologies are readily apparent, Col. Matthew Leard, Director of Pilot Training Transformation at Headquarters Nineteenth Air Force, Joint Base San Antonio, noted that there is a central question that must be answered: What problem does this tech seek to provide an answer for? Leard sees two main ways that industry can leverage simulations to benefit the warfighter, with the first being quality of training. “First, while we are still and have always produced the world’s highest-trained pilots, we know that won’t be enough for the possible next fight… What training are we providing so that we can get to a higher quality in a certain amount of time?” Full article
I/ITSEC NEWS: Air Force Mulling How to Train for High-End Fights
2 December 2021
Two platforms — the Common Simulation Training Environment and the Joint Simulation Environment — aim to connect the Air Force's multiple virtual training environments together, Yates said. The service hopes it will be able to better train airmen at a high fidelity through better networking systems together. Full article
